Bayern Munich will announce Carlo Ancelotti as Pep Guardiola’s successor on Sunday, according to French radio station RTL.
Guardiola’s contract at the Allianz Arena is due to expire at the end of the season and is widely expected to replace Manuel Pellegrini as Manchester City manager.
Ancelotti has been out of work since being sacked as Real Madrid manager at the end of last season and has been linked with a return to the Premier League with the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United touted as potential suitors for the three-time Champions League winner.
Guardiola’s men managed to overcome the unrest to secure a 1-0 win away to Hannover on Saturday to ensure they will be top of the Bundesliga at Christmas for the fourth year in a row.
