Derby have confirmed the appointment of Nigel Pearson as their new manager.
Darren Wassall had taken charge of the Rams following Paul Clement's sacking earlier in the season and guided Derby to the play-offs, where they fell to defeat to Hull in the semi-finals.
Wassall will resume his duties as academy director to allow Pearson to take charge of the first team having penned a three-year deal at Pride Park Stadium.
Former Leicester manager Pearson is joined by ex-Charlton and Huddersfield boss and Derby fan favourite Chris Powell, who takes over as assistant manager.
"I am honoured to be named as the Manager of Derby County, which is one of the biggest clubs in the country, a club in excellent shape and one with strong ambitions. It is firmly focused on achieving Premier League football," Pearson to the club's official website.
"I will give absolutely everything I have to this role and do all I can to bring exciting, entertaining and winning football which our supporters can be proud of.”
