Second choice goalkeeper Jasper Cillessen says Barcelona risk pricing him out of a summer move by demanding €60m (£53.2m) for his signature.
Cillessen has spent the last three years at Barcelona but has spent that time as Marc-Andre Ter Stegen’s understudy.
The Netherlands international is keen to leave and find regular playing time next season but Barcelona are demanding any suitors meet his release clause.
“The fact that Barcelona are asking for 60 million for me doesn’t help,” MARCA quote Cillessen as saying.
“I’m calm at this moment and will wait and see what happens.”
Benfica are the frontrunners for his signature but are only willing to pay a fraction of his release clause, while Manchester United have also been linked.
The Red Devils may need a new first-choice goalkeeper if they are forced to cash in on David de Gea.
Barcelona’s bargaining hand took a heavy blow in their last league game of the season, as Cillessen started and made two errors leading to an opposition goal in a 2-2 draw with Eibar.
Cillessen made nine appearances in all competitions this season, keeping only two clean sheets and conceding 12 goals.
Furthermore, in committing two errors leading to goal against Eibar, the 30-year-old impressively managed to make as many mistakes as Ter-Stegen (2) despite playing 32 fewer league games.
