Borussia Dortmund are keen to offer Julian Weigl a huge new deal in order to ward off potential interest in their young midfielder, reports The Daily Mirror.
Weigl, 21, is regarded as one of the most promising midfielders in Europe and has previously been linked with a move to Manchester City and Real Madrid.
The Germany international still has four years remaining on his existing deal with Dortmund but Thomas Tuchel’s side are willing to treble his £20,000-a-week wages in order to secure his long-term future.
Of players to have featured in more than three Bundesliga games this season only Andreas Christensen (91.9%) has a higher pass success rate than Weigl (91.2%).
