Deportivo closing in on free transfer of Gala midfielder
Deportivo La Coruna are on the verge of signing Galatasaray midfielder Emre Colak on the Bosman ruling, according to AS, via Football Espana.
Colak’s current deal is due to expire this summer and the midfielder has already rejected a last-ditch effort from the Turkish giants to extend his stay.
Deportivo are currently leading the race to sign the Turkey international and look set to prize the 25-year-old away from his boyhood club, with whom he broke through into the first-team six years ago.
Colak has the ability to sit further deeper in midfield, as shown by his defensive stats – 2 tackles per game and 1.1 interceptions per game – but he can also play further forward through the middle and has an efficient passing game that makes him a desirable player to have in midfield.
In fact, only Jason Denayer (88%) has a higher pass success rate of Gala players to have made at least 10 appearances in the Turkish Super Lig this season (87.5%).
