Bournemouth on course to sign Huddersfield midfielder Billing

Bournemouth are leading the race to sign Huddersfield midfielder Philip Billing in a deal worth an initial £15m, claims The Sun.

Huddersfield are ready to cash in on Billing after being relegated from the Premier League last season.

The 23-year-old was one of very few positives in an otherwise disasterous campaign for Huddersfield last season.

Bournemouth want to bolster their midfield options ahead of the new campaign and have earmarked Billing as a top transfer target.

Billing has entered the final 12 months of his existing Huddersfield deal and has not been given a squad number by the Terriers for next season.

Eddie Howe’s side face competition from Premier League rivals Brighton but are thought to be the frontrunners for Billing, who represented Denmark at this summer’s U21 European Championships.

Huddersfield only won three Premier League matches last season and all of those victories came with Billing in the starting XI.
