Sevilla are resigned to losing Steven N’Zonzi with either Manchester City or Juventus set to land their star midfielder, reports The Daily Record.
N’Zonzi, 27, has been a revelation for Sevilla since joining for Stoke in a deal worth £7m in the summer of 2015 and his performances, particularly this season, have caught the eye of some of the biggest clubs in Europe.
The former Stoke midfielder currently has a buy-out clause of £25.6m which means Sevilla would be powerless to preventing one of their best players from leaving should any side match that clause.
Gabriel Jesus, who was actually signed last summer, was supposed to be the only player to join City in January but Ilkay Gundogan’s long term injury has forced Pep Guardiola to take stock of his squad and now their is a high possibility they could move for N’Zonzi.
Despite the stigma that was attached to N’Zonzi during his time at Stoke under Tony Pulis, the Frenchman has excelled under Jorge Sammpaoli, who is considered a disciple of Guardiola, this season and many of his traits are similar to Sergio Busquets, a player that thrived under the City manager during his time as Barcelona head coach.
In fact, no player is averaging more passes per game in the Premier League this season than N’Zonzi (77.5).
