Tottenham line up England international to replace Lloris

Tottenham have earmarked Burnley's Nick Pope as a potential replacement for out-of-form Hugo Lloris at the end of the season, reports The Daily Mail.

Lloris' decline in form has set alarm bells ringing at Tottenham and they are prepared to sign a replacement at the end of the season if there is no signs of improvement.

The 34-year-old made a terrific start to the season but his performances have gradually got worse putting his eight-year affiliation with Tottenham under threat.

Lloris will only have 12 months left to run on his current Tottenham deal at the end of the season and is unlikely to be offered a renewal.

Manchester United's Dean Henderson has been linked with a move to Tottenham but it has now emerged his England team-mate, Pope, is their first-choice target.

Pope has been in superb form for Burnley once again this season but Burnley have him locked down for the next three years.

Only Harry Kane (9) has won the WhoScored Man of the Match award more times than Pope (6) in the Premier League this season.

Moreover, Pope has the best save success rate in the Premier League this season (77.3%).
