Juventus star rules out exit

Gianluigi Buffon says he would not leave Juventus even if he was offered double his wages.

The Italy international has coming to the end of his 15th year at Juventus and has shown no signs of slowing this season despite turning 38 earlier this year.

Buffon, whose £23.3m switch from Parma in 2001 remains a world record sum for a goalkeeper, insists he wants to continue playing with the Old Lady for a further two years before bowing out and would not consider playing for another club.

Even if I were offered twice my salary elsewhere, I would stay at Juve,” he told French magazine So Foot, via Sky Sports.

“Doing so would make me proud as it is a worthy thing to do. I want to play at his level until I’m 40, then that will be it.”

Buffon recently broke a 22-year-old Serie A record after going 974 minutes without conceding in the league.
