West Ham consider £20m bid for Manchester City outcast

West Ham are weighing up a move for Manchester City academy product Kelechi Iheanacho and could even pay £20m for the youngster, reports Sky Sports.

Iheanacho is widely expected to leave City this summer after dropping down the pecking order under Pep Guardiola this season and the Nigeria international will not be short of suitors.

The 20-year-old only signed a new long-term deal in August last year after enjoying an impressive breakthrough campaign for City under Manuel Pellegrini last season.

Iheanacho’s rise seemed to be weighing up nicely with that of Manchester United youngster Marcus Rashford, but while the England international has become a first-team regular at Old Trafford, Iheanacho has developed into a forgotten man under Guardiola.

As a result, West Ham are considering a move for the striker and hope the allure of regular first team football will convince Iheanacho to move down to London.

Of players that have scored at least 10 Premier League goals in the last two campaigns, Iheanacho has required the fewest minutes per goal (1 every 104.9 minutes).
