Leicester back in for £22m-rated striker

Leicester have revived their interest in CSKA Moscow striker Ahmed Musa and lodged a £22m bid in an attempt to bolster their offensive options next season, reports The Daily Mail.

Claudio Ranieri’s side failed with an £18m bid for Musa in January but are back in the market for a striker with Champions League football on the horizon.

CSKA Moscow and Russia manager Leonid Slutsky has confirmed Leicester’s bid and admits it now looks likely the Nigeria international will make the switch to the King Power Stadium over the summer.

“The British club offered a bit less than €30m,” he told Match TV. “Musa came to me a few days ago and asked when he [Ranieri] is back for the holidays and I told him I do not know, I do not know Ranieri.”

Asked whether talks had now re-opened, he added: “I do not know for sure. It is the work of our management but I think the probability is high.”
