Brighton & Hove Albion have confirmed the loan signing of Izzy Brown from Chelsea.
The 20-year-old spent time with Championship duo Rotherham and Huddersfield last season, but will spend the campaign with Premier League newsboys Brighton.
“Brighton & Hove Albion have completed the loan signing of Izzy Brown from Chelsea on a season-long agreement, and he is expected to feature in tonight's friendly at Southend United,” a statement read on the club’s official website.
“The 20-year-old forward spent last season on loan with Rotherham United and Huddersfield Town, helping the Terriers secure promotion to the Premier League alongside Albion, via the Play-Off Final.”
On the signing of Brown, who penned a four-deal with parent club Chelsea before making the switch to Brighton, manager Chris Hughton said: "The natural progression for Izzy, having enjoyed such a successful season in the Championship last season, was to step up to the Premier League - and we are delighted he will be doing that with us, here at Brighton.
“He is a player with great potential and will bring a different dimension to our attacking options for the season ahead, alongside our existing strikers."
Brown netted seven goals in the Championship last season, a return bettered only by Tammy Abraham (23) of U21s last term.
