Former Palace boss emerges as favourite for Norwich job

Former Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew has emerged as the favourite to succeed Alex Neil as Norwich boss, reports the Sun. 

Neil received his marching orders on Friday night, with the Canaries currently on a five-match winless run in the Championship. 

Gary Rowett has been linked with the vacant managerial role at Carrow Road, but Pardew has supposedly moved ahead of the former Birmingham manager on the club’s wishlist. 

Pardew is desperate to return to management following his sacking earlier in the season and is willing to drop down into the Championship in order to rebuild his reputation. 

Rowett is keen on the role also, but the Norwich board are thought to be more impressed with Pardew’s CV, with the 55-year-old boasting a commendable track record in England’s second tier. 

Norwich welcome Blackburn to Carrow Road on Saturday in a bid to reignite their playoff bid, with the club currently nine points behind Sheffield Wednesday in 6th.
