Manchester City table big money bid for South American star
Manchester City are set to make a £50m offer to sign Juventus left-back Alex Sandro this summer, reports the Sunday Mirror.
City boss Pep Guardiola had identified Sandro as a potential target upon his appointment, only for the Italian outfit to refuse to cash in on the Brazilian.
The Premier League side will return for Sandro at the end of the season however and are prepared to spend big to lure him to Manchester.
With Gael Clichy out of contract next month and Aleksandar Kolarov used predominantly as a centre-back, Guardiola is keen to strengthen this area of defence, with Sandro now his primary target after City were rebuffed in their efforts to sign Danny Rose from Tottenham.
26-year-old Sandro has again excelled for Juventus this season, playing a vital role in their progression to the semi-final stage of the Champions League.
Meanwhile, his form in the league means the Old Lady are honing in on their sixth consecutive title success, with his WhoScored rating (7.59) earning him a place in the current Serie A team of the season.
