Barcelona make audacious move for Real Madrid midfielder

Barcelona have told Isco they will pay the midfielder a €20m (£17.3m) signing on bonus if he sees out the remaining 12 months of his Real Madrid contract and joins them on a free transfer in 2018, reports Rac 1, via Football Espana.

Isco, 24, will only have a year left to run on his existing deal with Madrid at the end of the season and has been heavily linked with a move away in recent times after dropping down the pecking order under Zinedine Zidane.

Tottenham, Malaga and Manchester City have all been linked with the Spain international but Barcelona have tabled a stunning bid that would effectively see Isco waste another season of his career before joining Madrid’s fiercest rivals.

It’s not a deal that Madrid would likely allow to happen which would only suggest Isco will be sold in the summer unless there is a dramatic change of heart by the player and he signs new terms with Zidane’s side.

Isco has only started 13 league games this season and made a further nine appearances from the bench, but has still played a direct hand in 11 goals for Madrid in that time (six goals, five assists).

Since August 2014 only James Rodriguez (17) has completed more accurate through balls for Madrid in the league than Isco (16).
