Tottenham make enquiry for Barcelona midfielder

Tottenham have made an enquiry for Barcelona midfielder Arthur as head coach Jose Mourinho assesses potential options to boost his squad, reports Spanish publication Mundo Deportivo. 

Spurs are at risk of being left short of midfield options following Eric Dier's decision to focus his efforts on developing further as a defender. 

The north London side are in the market for a new central midfielder and are pondering a move for the Brazil international. 

Arthur has impressed when called upon, yet has struggled to hold down a regular spot in the Barcelona starting XI, making just 12 league starts this season. 

However, Spurs would face competition from Italian powerhouse Inter in the race to land Arthur, with the Serie A side also monitoring the 23-year-old. 

And Inter could use Barcelona's interest in Lautaro Martinez in their favour as the Blaugrana consider a summer move for the Argentine forward and they may use Arthur as a makeweight in any potential deal. 

Despite a lack of game time, Arthur's dribble success rate of 90.6% is still better than any of the 125 players to attempt 25 or more dribbles in LaLiga this season.
