Manchester United are monitoring Jose Gimenez ahead of a possible bid for the youngster in January, reports the Daily Mirror.
The Premier League side are keen to bolster their defence in the new year and have identified Gimenez are a possible arrival.
The 21-year-old remains a key player for Atletico Madrid, despite not playing a single minute in La Liga this season.
However, United scouts were supposedly in attendance for the Spanish sides’ 1-0 win at PSV Eindhoven in midweek, where Gimenez impressed to gain a WhoScored rating of 7.61.
Despite United’s commendable start to the season, Jose Mourinho is keen to dip into the market when the transfer window reopens to improve his defence, with Gimenez top of the manager’s wish list.
