Arsenal are ready to battle it out with their European rivals for the signature of Bayer Leverkusen attacking midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu, according to TalkSPORT, who cite sources from Turkey.
Calhanoglu, 21, has been linked with the likes of Manchester United and Barcelona in the past.
However, Arsenal have also now reportedly entered the race for the highly talented midfielder who has been dubbed ‘the new Mesut Ozil’.
The Leverkusen midfielder has already built a reputation as a deadly set piece taker in his short career. In fact, no player has scored more free-kicks since the start of the 2012/13 season than Calhanoglu across Europe’s top five leagues (11).
