Liverpool target committed to Roma

The agent of Roma goalkeeper Alisson insists the Brazilian is committed to Roma and denied an approach from Liverpool.

Jurgen Klopp is widely expected to address his goalkeeping dilemma in the summer following unconvincing displays from Simon Mignolet and Loris Karius this season.

Alisson was heavily linked with a move to Anfield in January and is reportedly still a top transfer target for Klopp’s side.

The Brazil international is widely regarded as one of the best goalkeepers in Europe at the moment but his agent, Ze Maria, insists he is happy at Roma.

“Alisson is certainly one of the best goalkeepers in the world. He loves Roma, 100 per cent,” he told The Sun.

“Will he sign a new contract? Now he is focused only in Serie A and on the Champions League.

“We have a great relationship with Roma. We never spoke with Liverpool about him. Now Alisson only thinks in present time.

“I don’t know how much he will cost. It depends about Roma and the transfer market.”

Liverpool target committed to Roma

Liverpool could face competition from Real Madrid if Roma entertain the idea of selling the 25-year-old, as Zinedine Zidane’s side are on the market for a new goalkeeper.

Alisson is currently the highest rated goalkeeper in Europe’s top five leagues (7.07) and features in the WhoScored Team of the Season.

Furthermore, of goalkeepers that have made at least 10 appearances in Europe’s top five leagues this season, only Jan Oblak (88.9%) and Marc-Andre Ter Stegen (85.2%) have a better save success rate than Alisson (80.8%).
