Manchester City vs Liverpool – match preview

The biggest game in the Premier League this weekend comes from the Etihad Stadium, where Manchester City host Liverpool. The duo have taken seven points of a possible nine this season and Saturday’s early kick off promises to live up to the billing. It’s the Reds, though, who hold the upper hand coming into this match, with Liverpool unbeaten in their last five Premier League meetings with City.

Jurgen Klopp has overseen four of those five league encounters, while the German knows exactly how to manage his side in the big games. After the 4-0 win over Arsenal, Klopp has masterminded six wins and five draws in Liverpool’s last 11 meetings with the traditional top-6 and he has the means of doing so again this weekend. A win, available at 4.20, is not out of the equation, but Liverpool to win or draw is available at a tantalising 1.95 and is a safer bet.

Nice vs Monaco – match preview

Gameweek 5 in Ligue 1 throws up one of the biggest derbies in the league as Nice welcome Monaco in the Derby de la Cote d’Azur. Much of the focus will be on PSG’s trip to Metz on Friday night, with former Monaco ace Kylian Mbappe expected to make his debut for the Parisian giants, but Leonardo Jardim’s side are unlikely to be affected by his drawn out departure. Indeed, they – like PSG – have won all four games this season and are in line to make it five wins from five.

Even with the exits of Mbappe, Benjamin Mendy, Bernardo Silva and Tiemoue Bakayoko, Monaco have been as ruthless as ever. The defending champions have won their last 16 league matches, while 33 of their last 40 top-flight games have seen over 2.5 goals. Nice will look to put a slow start to the season behind them, but Monaco to win and over 2.5 goals is too hard to turn down at 2.50.

Hoffenheim vs Bayern Munich – Streaming live on Bet365

An exciting match lies in wait in the Bundesliga’s late kick off on Saturday when Bayern Munich make the trip to Hoffenheim. As one might expect, Bayern have made a perfect start to the season, while Saturday’s hosts are unbeaten with one win and one draw. Hoffenheim won this match last term, but with Bayern sauntering to yet another title win, the result of that game didn’t have much bearing on the final standings.

Hoffenheim, though, often take their time to get into their stride in front of their fans and have been drawing at half time in six of their last eight home league matches. With Bayern winning the previous four league meetings between the two at the Wirsol Rhein-Neckar-Arena prior to last season's defeat, however, a draw at half time and then Bayern at full time at 4.33 could be a handy little moneymaker this weekend.

Barcelona vs Espanyol – Streaming live on Bet365

The second derby to feature in this tipster comes from Barcelona, as the Blaugrana and Espanyol resume rivalries in the Derbi barceloní. This is expected to be an emotionally charged match up, with this meeting the first derby since the atrocities that affected Barcelona last month. Ernesto Valverde’s side are overwhelming favourites to secure victory in this one having won their last 13 home league matches.

Espanyol may be a tougher proposition than in the past – they are unbeaten in their last five away from home – but Barcelona remain the stronger of the two teams having lost just one of the last 17 competitive meetings with their rivals. There is not much value present in Barcelona to win outright, but Barcelona to secure the victory and over 3.5 goals scored is available at 2.00. Over 3.5 goals and Barcelona winning has occurred in five of the last six league meetings between these two at Camp Nou and with Luis Suarez set to return and Ousmane Dembele in line to make his debut, a similar result is on the cards.

Lazio vs AC Milan – Streaming live on Bet365

AC Milan are looking to re-establish themselves as Serie A’s top team once more and they have started their project strongly with two wins from two. However, meetings with Crotone and Cagliari weren't the toughest tests and it’s Sunday’s trip to Lazio that poses their sternest examinsation so far. The Rome outfit may have lost Wesley Hoedt, Lucas Biglia and Keita Balde in the transfer window, but are still a strong opponent for any side on their day.

They have a solid home record against AC Milan, too, having lost just one of their last six home league welcomes of the Rossoneri, though considering the quality running through Vincenzo Montella’s side, Sunday’s encounter will be tough to say the least. Four of the last five competitive matches between Lazio and AC Milan have seen under 2.5 goals and at 2.07, it’s tempting to back this happening once more.

There may not be as much at stake as the last top match accumulator, but all five together is available at 87/1, which can turn a tidy profit!
