Toby Alderweireld (7.09) - Bullied Wesley in the first half in particular, spraying passes as per and winning four aerial duels.
Davinson Sanchez (6.64) - Doesn’t judge a high ball well and it showed again for Villa’s opener. Posed a threat in opposition box though and had a header superbly saved.

ASTON VILLA - 6.57

Bjorn Engels (6.74) - Looked really composed on debut - completing 88 per cent of his passes - and made some superb blocks and clearances (six).
Tyrone Mings (7.78) - Proved just why Villa paid a potential club record fee for his services, throwing his body in front of everything and making a huge 15 clearances.
Neil Taylor (6.48) - A surprise inclusion but stuck to his task well, winning all four of his tackles and blocking countless crosses.
Conor Hourihane (7.22) - Played very well in the first half and shielded the defence well but tired and was understandably withdrawn.
Trezeguet (7.29) - A very lively debut, stretching Spurs but had one timid effort from a decent position on the break and another good attempt blocked.

Jack Grealish (6.99) - Looked composed and a threat on the counter in the first half but a little leggy in the second and was dispossessed for Tottenham’s crucial second goal.
Anwar El Ghazi (5.83) - Had two wayward attempts and in general didn’t have the quality to cause Spurs problems on the day.
