Chelsea secured just their fourth win in 12 league matches as they successfully did the double over Tottenham. Marcos Alonso has previous over Tottenham having netted twice in their 2-1 win over Spurs at Wembley a couple of years ago and his second half strike proved decisive in both the encounter and the race for the top four. Alonso's goal was from one of three shots, while he could have had two having struck the woodwork late on. Three tackles, two interceptions and two key passes was enough to land the WhoScored man of the match award with a 8.23 rating.

Crystal Palace's seven-match winless run ended at Newcastle's expense on Saturday as the Eagles edged out their relegation rivals with a 1-0 home win. The victory marked another solid showing from Jordan Ayew, who earned a WhoScored rating of 8.68. While the Ghana international was unable to score, it wasn't for want of trying as Ayew managed six shots in the clash. Six dribbles, three interceptions and one tackle meant the forward was good value for his star man award. 

 

Burnley 3-0 Bournemouth - Dwight McNeil

Burnley all but secured their top-flight status with a 3-0 win over Bournemouth on Saturday. The Clarets are now eighth in the table after a five-match unbeaten run, securing all the spoils in four of those five games with Dwight McNeil churning out another impressive performance from the left. McNeil had a direct hand in two of Burnley's three goals as he hit the back of the net with one of three shots and provided the assist for Matej Vydra's opener from one of his three key passes to earna WhoScored rating of 9.18. 

 

Sheffield United 1-1 Brighton - Enda Stevens

Moussa Djenepo provided the assist for Shane Long's early opener in Southampton's vital 2-0 win over relegation rivals Aston Villa at St. Mary's. That assist came from one of four key passes as Djenepo routinely had the better of Frederic Guilbert down the Saints left as he completed six dribbles. Off the ball, the youngster excelled as he made two tackles to return the WhoScored man of the match award with a 8.38 rating. 

 

Leicester 0-1 Manchester City - Riyad Mahrez

Manchester City were made to work for the victory at the King Power Stadium on Saturday night, but eventually found the breakthrough 10 minutes from time. Former Leicester man Riyad Mahrez was the provider for Gabriel Jesus to hit the back of the net as the Algerian found the Brazilian forward, with one of his five key passes resulting in an assist. Mahrez also made three tackles and one interception, and completed two dribbles, in another excellent display to yield a WhoScored rating of 8.53 on Saturday evening.
