Form Guide

Having seen in the international break with a 2-0 win, Tottenham were brought back down to earth in a 2-2 draw with Newcastle, another game they conceded late on in. Spurs have won just one of their last four in all competitions, but they have been decent at home, winning their last five, and secured a massive 6-1 win at Old Trafford in the reverse fixture.

Manchester United fought back to win 2-1 against Brighton last weekend and all but secured their spot in the semi-finals of the Europa League with a 2-0 win at Granada in midweek. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side have been exceptional on the road in the league and are unbeaten on their travels since defeat at Liverpool last January, a run of 22 games, and they have claimed a result in their last two trips to Spurs.

Team News

Matt Doherty and Ben Davies are Tottenham's only two confirmed absentees, though neither would have started for the north London side anyway. Toby Alderweireld and Serge Aurier both missed the 2-2 draw at Newcastle after returning from international duty too late for their COVID-19 tests and should be available this afternoon. Jose Mourinho may revert back to a 4-2-3-1 setup, with Son Heung-Min coming in Carlos Vinicius.

Eric Bailly tested positive for COVID-19 last week and misses the trip to Tottenham. He is joined on the sidelines by Phil Jones and Anthony Martial, the latter having sustained a knee injury while on international duty with France. After last week's 2-1 win over Brighton, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer may name the same XI that started the victory over the Seagulls.

Tottenham vs Man Utd - Premier League team news and prediction

French stars Tanguy Ndombele and Paul Pogba face off for a battle of midfield supremacy this afternoon. Both midfielders have been linked with moves away from their respective teams in recent months, but now are key man for Tottenham and Manchester United. Ndombele is the driving force in the Spurs midfield and has completed 68 dribbles in the 2020/21 Premier League season; only Fulham's Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa (83) has completed more of central midfielders.

Pogba has become a clutch player for United after his return from injury. The Frenchman scored the decisive Europa League goal against AC Milan last month and provided the assist for Mason Greenwood's late winner against Brighton last weekend. Fully fit after a six-week spell on the sidelines earlier this year, Solskjaer will look to Pogba to dominate this crucial Premier League clash.
