Form Guide

Tottenham are unbeaten in their last eight matches in all competitions since back-to-back defeats at the hands of Liverpool and Leicester before Christmas. They have dropped points here and there in that time, however, drawing to Wolves and Fulham between wins over Leeds and Sheffield United in the Premier League.

There isn't much form to speak of as far as Liverpool are concerned. They aren't playing poorly but they are really struggling at the moment. Jurgen Klopp's side remarkably have one win from their last seven matches and that came over a bunch of Aston Villa teenagers. They haven't even managed a goal across their last four Premier League matches.

Tottenham won't have a better chance to end their poor recent run of results against Liverpool than on Thursday night. Tottenham have lost six meetings between the two sides, with Liverpool running out 2-1 winners on four occasions in that time.

Team News

Tottenham have a relatively clean bill of health with Giovani Lo Celso the only confirmed absentee for the home side, though an image on his Instagram suggests he'll be back in training soon enough. Ben Davies and Matt Doherty will need assessing but neither are expected to start, while Dele Alli misses out as talks over a move to Paris Saint-Germain continue. The only real question marks are whether Joe Rodon or Toby Alderweireld start in defence, Harry Winks or Moussa Sissoko play in midfield and Steven Bergwijn or Lucas Moura take the right wing position.

Liverpool have been boosted by news both Joel Matip and Jordan Henderson will return to first-team action on Thursday after missing the FA Cup defeat to Manchester United at the weekend. With Joe Gomez, Virgil van Dijk and Diogo Jota still missing, Jurgen Klopp will greatly appreciate having some important players back. Liverpool's usual front three should reunite here after a bit of rotation up front in recent games.
