Arsenal pair Odegaard and Rice make Nations League B Team of the Round

 

England have two players make the UEFA Nations League B Team of the Round after Saturday's win over Ireland. The Boys in Green are also represented in the XI, as are Montenegro, Greece, Kazakhstan, Norway, Georgia and Albania. 

 

Caoimhin Kelleher (Ireland) - 7.68 

 

While Ireland crashed to a 2-0 loss to England on Saturday evening, Caoimhin Kelleher shone between the sticks for the Boys in Green. The Liverpool man made seven saves and one high ball claim to keep Ireland in the tie and help return a WhoScored rating of 7.68.

Slobodan Rubezic (Montenegro) - 8.64 

 

Slobodan Rubezic was the star player from Montenegro's meeting with Iceland despite playing for the losing side on Friday night. The centre-back made nine clearances, including two off the line, won eight aerial duels and made four tackles to land a WhoScored rating of 8.64 even in a 2-0 defeat. 

 

Konstantinos Mavropanos (Greece) - 8.19 

 

Partnering Rubezic at the back is Greece and West Ham centre-back Konstantinos Mavropanos, who earned a WhoScored rating of 8.19 against Finland on Saturday night. The 26-year-old made four clearances, including one off the line, three interceptions and two tackles to make the cut. 

 

Yan Vorogovskiy (Kazakhstan) - 7.40 

 

Kazakhstan were able to frustrate Norway on Friday as they stood firm to claim a 0-0 draw. Left-back Yan Vorogovskiy was solid in the stalemate as he made four tackles, two clearances and one interception to round off the defence with a WhoScored rating of 7.40. 

 

 

Martin Odegaard (Norway) - 8.30 

 

Remaining at the Almaty Ortalyk Stadium, Martin Odegaard was the star performer in Norway's 0-0 draw with Kazakhstan. With a WhoScored rating of 8.93, Greece striker Fotis Ioannidis is the League B Player of the Round. Ioannidis bagged a brace in their 3-0 win over Finland, those coming from two of three shots, while the 24-year-old also won two aerial duels in a fine showing. 

 

Rey Manaj (Albania) - 7.92 

 

Albania got their UEFA Nations League campaign off to a winning start as they beat Ukraine 2-1 in Prague. Rey Manaj was the star player for Albania having landed a WhoScored rating of 7.92 having provided the assist for Jasir Asani's winning goal. That assist came from his only key pass, while Manaj was on hand to win four aerial duels. 

 

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia (Georgia) - 8.76 

 

Joining Ioannidis and Manaj on the frontline is Georgia star Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. Like teammate Chakvetadze, Kvaratskhelia also directly contributed to two goals in the 4-1 win over Czechia, netting from the spot in the first half before turning provider for Chakvetadze shortly after the restart from respective returns of three shots and three key passes.
