Top transfer roundup - January 13th: Tottenham preparing for two huge offers

The Sunday gossip columns during a transfer window are always filled and today is no different as we round up the top transfer rumours this time around.

Tottenham slap world record price tag on Kane

In their latest attempt to dissuade any interest in their star striker, Tottenham have reportedly told long term admirers Real Madrid that they will need to smash the world record fee (The Sun).

The London club have reportedly informed the Spanish giants that it would take a monumental offer in excess of £300m to convince them to part ways with a player that still has over five years remaining on his current deal.

Kane’s league tally of 14 goals heading into today’s clash with Manchester United is twice that of any Real Madrid player this season.

Elsewhere the club have reportedly lined up Frenkie de Jong as a potential replacement for Christian Eirksen, who has also been heavily linked with a move to the Bernabeu (The Sunday Express).

Daniel Levy is reportedly ready to break Tottenham’s transfer record with a bid that would match PSG’s £67m offer for the Dutch international, who has earned a place in the WhoScored.com Eredivisie team of the season so far with a 7.64 rating.

Ramsey could make Juventus move this month

Arsenal have reportedly told Juventus that they can sign Aaron Ramsey this month, having already agreed terms with the Wales international (The Mirror).

The claims suggest that the Gunners have made it clear they would be willing to offload the midfield - who has two goals and six assists despite limited playing time in the league this season - for a fee in the region of £18m.

Chelsea preparing audacious Rabiot swoop

In an attempt to bolster their midfield following the departure of Cesc Fabregas, Chelsea are readying an approach for Paris Saint Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot (L’Equipe).

The France international has seemingly played his last game for the Ligue 1 champions and is still expected to secure a move to long term admirers Barcelona, but not without the Blues making a last ditch attempt to change the 23-year-old’s mind.

Manchester City eye Allan as Fernandinho successor

Following their struggles in the absence of key midfielder Fernandinho over the festive period, Manchester City are stepping up their pursuit of a long term successor and have identified Allan as that man (Tutto Mercato).

The Napoli midfielder has built a reputation as Serie A’s top ball winner, very much in the N’Golo Kante mould, and has made 69 more tackles (350) than any other player in Italy’s top-flight since signing for the club back in 2015.

West Ham set to increase Shelvey offer

Newcastle have reportedly rejected an offer of £10m from West Ham for Jonjo Shelvey, but the Londoners remain undeterred in their pursuit of the midfielder (The Sunday Express).

The former England international has endured an injury hit campaign, meaning he hasn’t started a league match since November, but is back fit and the Hammers number one target to bolster their ranks.
