Chelsea 0-2 Manchester United player ratings: Maguire dominates both boxes

Manchesyer United move three points behind Chelsea in fourth with a 2-0 win at Stamford Bridge courtesy of their first headed goals away from home in the Premier League all season. We explain our statistical ratings from a big win for the Red Devils.

CHELSEA - 6.36

Willy Caballero (5.86) - Could do nothing with either of the goal but no saves and two goals conceded is only ever going to end in a low score.

Reece James (6.38) - Strong in possession, flashed a decent effort wide early on but didn't carry his usual attacking threat thereafter.

Andreas Christensen (6.56) - A solid showing before taking a blow to the face that may well have effected his defending of United's opening goal.

Antonio Rudiger (6.31) - Kept possession well (92% pass accuracy) but beaten in the air for United's second and picked up a needless booking.

Cesar Azpilicueta (6.09) - A frustrated display from the Chelsea captain, penalised for a foul that saw a route back into the game ruled out and careless in possesion at times (79% pass accuracy).

Jorginho (6.07) - Kept the ball as well as usual (95% pass accuracy) and produced three tackles but had too many touches too deep to really influence the game.

N'Golo Kante (6.11) - Forced off early / Mason Mount (6.34) - Hit the post with a smart free-kick late on but otherwise bypassed more often than not.

Mateo Kovacic (7.17) - Superb in the first half, driving Chelsea forward at every opportunity, but attempted to force the issue too often after the break with some careless passes. Should have scored.

Willian (6.96) - Battled well, completing four tackles, and harshly booked for simulation but lacked quality in the final third at times.

Pedro (6.62) - Looked off the pace at times and conceded possession too often before cramping up late on.

Michy Batshuayi (5.82) - Had two first half chances, the first of which he should have scored, and incurred the ire of the home fans with loose touches after the break.

Subs: Kurt Zouma (6.64), Olivier Giroud (6.12)

MANCHESTER UNITED - 7.14

David de Gea (6.78) - Made just one straightforward save but that's all he needed to do to earn a clean sheet in a quiet night's work.

Eric Bailly (7.43) - Superb on his comeback from injury - starting for the first time since the reverse fixture on the opening day of the season - producing four tackles, one of which was game saving, and showing great strength and composure throughout.

Chelsea 0-2 Manchester United player ratings: Maguire dominates both boxes

Harry Maguire (9.11) - Lucky to stay on the pitch after an 'incident' with Batshuayi in the first half but commanding in both boxes thereafter, firing a bullet header home for his first Premier League goal for United.

Luke Shaw (7.40) - Looked assured on the left of a back three, bringing the ball out well, completing two dribbles and 93% of his passes.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka (8.23) - Silenced his critics with a superb attacking contribution with the assist for United's first goal and made two outstanding defensive interventions to ensure a clean sheet.

Brandon Williams (7.24) - Another solid defensive display from the youngster, whilst completing three dribbles before being booked.

Nemanja Matic (6.91) - A relatively quiet display against his former club but did his job in protecting the defence.

Bruno Fernandes (7.66) - Excellent delivery all night, registering his first assist for the club and hitting the post with an excellent free-kick.

Daniel James (6.53) - Didn't get any real service but must do more himself to influence the game. No shots and a 73% pass accuracy summed up another underwhelming display.
