See our picks below…

BUY - MAREK HAMSIK (NAPOLI)

Marek Hamsik scored just his second league goal of the season in Napoli’s 3-1 win at Torino last time out, though while the goals and assists don’t reflect his performances, the 30-year-old is a key man in this Napoli side. Their form has tailed off of late, with just one win in their last three, but the Partenopei have winnable fixtures against Sampdoria, Crotone and Verona in the coming weeks.

Indeed, Hamsik should be a the key man in the Napoli midfield for the three upcoming league fixtures, with 2.9 shots and 1.5 key passes per game ranking third and fourth for the Naples outfit. His share price has fluctuated over the last month, but at £1.12 per share on Football INDEX, the Slovakian is well worth looking into ahead of Saturday’s welcome of Sampdoria.

BUY - ERIK LAMELA (TOTTENHAM)

With the games coming thick and fast in the Premier League, managers are expected to rotate heavily between now and the New Year, which will benefit fringe players and those recovering from injury hoping to make an impact. One of those is Erik Lamela, who made his return to action after over a year out with a hip problem in a 2-1 loss to Leicester last month.

He registered an assist in that defeat and will look to add to that over the coming days. Lamela started the 2-0 win over Brighton and while he didn’t leave a lasting impact, the Argentine was still effective in the final third. Expect the 25-year-old to feature more prominently over the festive period and his share price to increase as a result. He’s available at just £1.04 per share with Football INDEX - be sure to capitalise on the low price before he properly comes back into the XI.

BUY - ANGELO OGBONNA (WEST HAM)

West Ham crashed out of the Carabao Cup in midweek, but remained compact at the back to trouble Arsenal. Danny Welbeck’s scrappy first half goal was the only goal the Hammers have conceded in their last four competitive matches. Back on home turf against an out of sorts Newcastle, the east London side will be confident of making it four successive Premier League clean sheets on Saturday.

Only West Brom (16) are on a longer winless streak than Newcastle (9) at present, while seven goals scored in nine away games is a poor return to say the least. A rejuvenated West Ham side should make light work of the Magpies and it’s vital to capitalise. For that reason, we’re looking to invest in centre-back Angelo Ogbonna, whose share price is a tantalising 41p - that’s a steal on Football INDEX. The Hammers are far more organised and resolute under David Moyes and the Italian is a cheap option that could reap huge rewards. The Hammers also face Bournemouth and West Brom in the coming days, which should help you win money on Ogbonna.

BUY - ANTONIO CANDREVA (INTER)

We couldn’t believe our luck when we saw Antonio Candreva’s price. The Inter winger is available at just £1.04 per share on Football INDEX - that’s very good for a player who has registered eight league assists this season, a return bettered only by Neymar and Philipp Max (both 9) in Europe’s top five leagues.

Inter’s title pursuit may have suffered an unlikely blow with a 3-1 home loss to Udinese last time out, but we’re looking for them to get back on track against Sassuolo. Candreva has scored three goals and registered two assists in eight league meetings with the Italian side and has made more key passes (56) than any other player in Serie A this season. With his share price at £1.04, Christmas could come early if you look to buy low and sell high.

BUY - ILKAY GUNDOGAN (MANCHESTER CITY)

Ilkay Gundogan made just his second Premier League start of the season in a 4-1 win over Tottenham last week and impressed to score one and assist another. He was in good form in the Carabao Cup penalty shootout win over Leicester in midweek too, where he provided another assist and was named the WhoScored.com man of the match.

With David Silva expected to miss out for personal reasons, Gundogan should be handed another chance from the off against Bournemouth. City have won their last 16 Premier League matches and their five top-flight meetings with the Cherries by an aggregate score of 17-2. The German’s share price has risen considerably over the last few days, but at 93p a share on Football INDEX, he’s still a bargain option that could pay off handsomely.
