WhoScored.com can reveal Aston Villa midfielder Robert Snodgrass has won our Championship Player of the Month award for his performances in January.
Steve Bruce’s side are one of the form teams in the Championship at the moment and Snodgrass’ performances have been integral to their fine start to the year.
Villa have made a 100 per cent start in the league in 2018 and are now only one point adrift of Derby, who occupy the final automatic promotion spot.
Snodgrass joined Villa on a season-long loan deal in the summer after failing to establish himself at West Ham and the Scotland international has been immense in recent weeks.
The 30-year-old earned the WhoScored Man of the Match award in three of Villa’s four league matches in January, playing a direct hand in five goals in the process (three goals, two assists).
New West Ham manager David Moyes was reportedly keen to recall Snodgrass from his loan stint at Villa Park but Bruce will be delighted that failed to materialise, particularly after the Scot finished January with the highest WhoScored rating in the Championship (8.47).
