If you are only as good as your last result then Manchester United are the best team in Europe. United ran out 9-0 winners at home to Southampton to equal the biggest winning margin in a game in Premier League history. Looking further back, however, United were actually winless in two prior to their midweek encounter with Southampton.

Like United, Everton have won three of their last six in the Premier League after coming away from Elland Road with a 2-1 win over Leeds in midweek. Everton are actually unbeaten in their last six away league matches and have won four on the spin. In fact, only  United themselves (27) and Leicester (26) have picked up more points on the road than Everton (22) in the Premier League this season. 

Team News

Manchester United should have a relatively clean bill of health for Saturday's game with Everton. Edinson Cavani is expected to overcome an ankle injury in time to make the match, while Eric Bailly is rated as a doubt. United managed a 9-0 victory without needing to call on Paul Pogba from the bench and he will be well rested if required here. Solskjaer will be tempted to name an unchanged XI following such an emphatic victory.

Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti was hopeful Jordan Pickford would recover from a rib injury in time to face United but he has now been ruled out, with Robin Olsen set for his fourth league appearance for the club and biggest to date. Everton's injury problems have eased significantly in recent weeks and Ancelotti now has a selection headache. Everton have looked better without James Rodriguez in recent times and that is obviously a problem. Ancelotti has used four centre-backs in defence at times this season but now Seamus Coleman and Lucas Digne are available.

Key Battle: Bruno Fernandes vs James Rodriguez

Manchester United have been criticised for being over reliant on Bruno Fernandes over the past 12 months. It's hard to argue against it given his impact. The 26-year-old has remarkably played a direct hand in 36 goals in 36 league appearances for United since joining in January last year. He played a direct hand in three goals against Everton in the reverse fixture at Goodison Park and will again be integral if Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side want to win on Saturday.

James Rodriguez appeared on course to make a similar impact at Everton earlier on in the season but now there are genuine questions whether Everton look a better side without him in the team. It would be a real blow for Rodriguez if he didn't start a game of this magnitude but perhaps don't be surprised to see him benched as he was in midweek. Everton certainly look more vulnerable defensively with Rodriguez starting and that will be a concern for Ancelotti after United romped to a 9-0 victory in midweek.
