Sancho and Mount feature in U21 Team of the Week across Europe

Here we run through the best rated XI from Europe’s top five leagues from the weekend's action, excluding Serie A which is yet to start, comprising of only players aged 21 and under.

Goalkeeper: Aaron Ramsdale (Bournemouth) – 7.45 rating

Football INDEX share price – N/A

Instead of signing a new goalkeeper this summer, Eddie Howe opted to promote Aaron Ramsdale following his loan spell with AFC Wimbledon last season. Ramsdale played a key part in Bournemouth’s first win of the campaign, making six saves and claiming two crosses in a 2-1 win over Aston Villa. Their opponents required an unstoppable long-range effort to finally get the better of the 21-year-old.

Right-back: Aaron Wan-Bissaka (Manchester United) – 7.45 rating

Football INDEX share price - £2.34

Aaron Wan-Bissaka is quickly becoming a fan favourite at Manchester United and has already demonstrated the best of his tackling ability in just two matches. Wan-Bissaka made nine tackles in United’s 1-1 draw away to Wolves on Monday night, a record in a Premier League match this season. The 21-year-old now needs to improve going forward to add another dimension to his game.

Not only that, but the 21-year-old was the only player on display to manage at least 100 touches (114).
