Tottenham to win North London Derby in Yahoo! Fantasy Football Tips

There are huge matches with implications at both ends of the Premier League table this weekend but it’s difficult to divert your attention away from the final North London Derby to ever be held at White Hart Lane on Sunday. WhoScored.com has partnered with Yahoo! for their Fantasy Football to provide users with tips for each gameweek, continuing this weekend.

Goalkeeper – LUKASZ FABIANSKI

Swansea’s defence can expect a busy afternoon when they travel to Old Trafford to face Manchester United on Sunday, but they should also be quietly optimistic. United have drawn five of their last seven league games on home soil and have already been held to goalless draws against lesser teams on three occasions at Old Trafford in the Premier League this season.

Lukasz Fabianski may well be Swansea’s most involved player at the weekend but that means plenty of opportunities to pick up points, particularly if United’s woes in front of goal on home soil continue. With a Europa League semi-final around the corner, United aren’t expected to play their best available team either.

Defence – LUKE SHAW

One of United’s fringe players that will be given a rare run out against Swansea will be Luke Shaw. The 21-year-old has a lot to prove to Jose Mourinho before the end of the season and will be desperate to turn in a good performance on Sunday.

The United left-back has impressed in recent outings and should be confident of showcasing both sides to his game as United are expected to dominate. Given only Spurs (16) have kept more clean sheets in the Premier League than United (15) this season, there could even be a clean sheet bonus for Shaw as well.

Defender – MAYA YOSHIDA

Southampton have underwhelmed this season, aside from a EFL Cup final appearance, but have a great chance to get points on the board against a Hull side that are abysmal away from home.

The Tigers have lost 14 of their last 15 away league matches and have failed to score in nine of those. Maya Yoshida has become first choice for Southampton in the wake of Jose Fonte’s departure and Virgil van Dijk’s injury and he could be a bargain buy this weekend.

Defender – MARTIN KELLY

Crystal Palace are thin on the ground in defence but that shouldn’t stop them from keeping a clean sheet against a Burnley side that have gone completely off the boil. The Clarets have only picked up four points away from home all season and, ominously, have failed to score in five of their last six trips to Selhurst Park.

Sam Allardyce has been really impressed with Kelly in a centre-back position in recent weeks and he could also prove a bargain buy with the Eagles primed to get back on track this weekend

Midfielder – CHRISTIAN ERIKSEN

Christian Eriksen is the first of two Tottenham players in our Yahoo! Fantasy Football team. The 25-year-old is in the form of his life at the moment and that should continue against Arsenal this weekend.

The Denmark international, who is a top-20 form player in Yahoo! Fantasy Football, has scored or assisted 16 goals in his last 12 appearances for Tottenham in all competitions (12 assists, four goals). In fact, only Emil Forsberg (15) and Kevin De Bruyne (13) have provided more assists in Europe’s top five leagues this season than the Tottenham midfielder (12).

Midfielder – WILFRED NDIDI

Leicester will do well to keep Wilfred Ndidi over the summer after the 20-year-old’s impressive start to life in the Premier League. He has only played 12 league games this season, but only two Leicester players have completed more tackles than the youngster (48).

Against a battling West Brom side, Ndidi will need to excel again for Leicester to have any chance of securing any points this weekend.

Midfielder – N'GOLO KANTE

Chelsea will take a decisive step towards the Premier League title if they beat Everton on Sunday but it will not be easy. Ronald Koeman’s side have won each of their seven league games on home soil and it will be down to N’Golo Kante to disrupt a free-flowing Everton side this weekend.

Kante has enjoyed another brilliant season in the Premier League and is primed to pick up a number of points for tackles won, interceptions, as well as passes. Only one player has completed more tackles and interceptions combined in the Premier League this season than Kante (186), while only Cesar Azpilicueta (63.5) averages more passes per league game for Chelsea than Kante (61.3)

Midfielder – YOHAN CABAYE

In keeping with what we have already mentioned about Burnley and their poor away form, it’s worth looking for points in advanced positions for Palace. Yohan Cabaye is ready to come back into the starting XI this weekend with Allardyce keen to bring in fresh legs, and the Frenchman has scored or assisted in three of his last four appearances for Palace.

Given Wilfried Zaha and Christian Benteke tend to do all their damage away from home; it could be up to a player like Cabaye to help break the deadlock against Burnley on Saturday.

Utility – GABRIEL JESUS

Pep Guardiola admits he often thinks about what could have been this campaign had Gabriel Jesus been available to Manchester City all season. The Brazilian marked his comeback in the Manchester Derby on Thursday and looked sharp, finding the back of the net only for it to be correctly disallowed.

Now Guardiola is ready to unleash Jesus against a Middlesbrough outfit destined for relegation. Jesus is averaging a league goal every 69 minutes of action and he should be in your Yahoo! Fantasy Football teams this weekend.

Striker – HARRY KANE

The second Tottenham player in our Yahoo! Fantasy Football team is Harry Kane. The Tottenham striker has scored in four consecutive league appearances against Arsenal, netting five in the process. He is already Tottenham’s joint-highest goalscorer against Arsenal and also has a tremendous record in London Derbies.

Kane has scored 19 goals in 25 London derbies in the Premier League during his career. In fact, of players that have played in five or more London derbies, Kane has the second best goal per game ratio of all-time (0.72 goals per game) behind Arsenal hero Theirry Henry (0.73 goals per game).

Striker  - DIEGO COSTA

The Chelsea striker is back among the goals after scoring his first brace since September in Antonio Conte’s side emphatic 4-2 win over Southampton on Tuesday. Now attentions turn to Sunday’s clash with Goodison Park where Costa will be looking to upstage his potential replacement, Romelu Lukaku.

Costa has only scored more goals against Swansea (8) of all English sides than he has against Everton (5) in his career. This high-scoring fixtures could see Costa continue where he left off in midweek.
