Everyday, Football INDEX highlights the five biggest market movers over a 24-hour period. Here are the current five at the time of writing:

1. RODRYGO (SANTOS)

The news out of Spain is that Real Madrid are on the verge of signing Santos wonderkid Rodrygo.

Missing out on Neymar’s signature to Barcelona in 2013 has ensured Madrid want to be first to all the South American talent going forward.

This was demonstrated when they shelled out £39.6m to sign rising Flamengo star Vinicius Junior in 2016.

Now Madrid believe they have unearthed the next Brazilian wonderkid and delegates are currently in South America to put the finishing touches on a deal that could be worth around €50m.

Rodrygo has scored five goals in 10 league appearances for Santos, including a hat-trick against Vitoria at the start of the month.

In fact, the 17-year-old is the only Brasileirao player to secure a perfect WhoScored 10 rating this season.

His Football INDEX share price has increased a staggering 183.9% in the last 24 hours and he is certainly worth considering for your portfolios.

2. TIMOTHY WEAH (PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN)

There is a lot of hope at Paris Saint-Germain that 18-year-old Timothy Weah will turn out to be as good as his father, iconic forward George Weah.

The teenager is already a fully-fledged USA international and was given some opportunities in the PSG first-team last season by former manager Unai Emery.

Weah, 18, made his first PSG start against Caen, completing 90 minutes in a 0-0 draw in May.

It remains to be seen whether there will be ample first team chances under Thomas Tuchel next season, but his Football INDEX share price has increased 182.36% in the last day of trading.

His Football INDEX share price is £1.42 at the time of writing and unlikely to increase too much further for the time being. With that in mind, it may not be worth adding shares of Weah to your portfolios.

3. DIOGO DALOT (MANCHESTER UNITED)

New Manchester United signing Diogo Dalot has caused a stir on Football INDEX in the last 24 hours. The versatile defender’s share price has increased 87.57% in that time, cementing his place as the third highest market mover in the last day of trading.

Jose Mourinho has labelled the former Porto defender as the best full-back of his age group and the hope is that the 19-year-old can be Antonio Valencia’s long-term replacement at right-back.

It remains to be seen how much Dalot will play next season, but he certainly looks to be one for the future and should be considered for your Football INDEX portfolios.

Dalot is currently recovering from a knee injury, but will be fit in time for the start of pre-season next month. At £1.17, his share price will likely increase once Mourinho bloods him into the United first-team.

4. CURTIS JONES (LIVERPOOL)

Trent Alexander-Arnold showed last season that there is a path from the Liverpool academy to the first-team and Football INDEX traders are speculating whether Curtis Jones will be the next gem to turn out for Jurgen Klopp’s side.

The 17-year-old impressed for Liverpool’s underage teams last season and was even rewarded with a call-up to the matchday squad for their Merseyside Derby against Everton in the middle of April.

Jones’ Football INDEX share price has increased 82.46% in the last 24 hours and he is now trading at £0.79 a share. The speculation is that Klopp may turn to one of Liverpool’s youngsters after missing out on Lyon captain Nabil Fekir.

However, that is unlikely to be case. Not only will Klopp sound out an alternative to Fekir, Liverpool are also rumoured to be closing in on Stoke ace Xherdan Shaqiri. The chances will simply not be there for Jones next season.

5. ANTE CORIC (ROMA)

Roma have been busy getting their business in order this summer, making no fewer than four signings before the World Cup starts on Thursday.

The Serie A giants are due to wrap up a deal for Ajax wonderkid Justin Kluivert, having already signed Bryan Cristante, Ivan Marcano and Ante Coric.

In Coric, Roma will hope they have signed the next talented player coming out of Croatia, signing the 21-year-old from Dinamo Zagreb.

Roma have assembled a vastly talented pool of young players and Coric is chief among them. He was called up to Croatia’s Euro 2016 squad, but didn’t make an appearance, while missing out on their 23-man squad for this summer’s World Cup.

His Football INDEX share price has increased 53.77% at the time of writing and he should be considered for your portfolios, particularly if Radja Nainggolan leaves.
