Maguire among Man Utd quartet to make Premier League November best XI

Manchester United are the dominant side in November’s Premier League Team of the Month with four representatives, while players from Luton, Arsenal, Aston Villa, Manchester City and Chelsea also make the cut.

Andre Onana (Manchester United) - 7.69

Summer signing Andre Onana looks to have found his feet in the Premier League, and his performances between the sticks helped Erik ten Hag’s side to three wins and three clean sheets in November. Onana’s player of the match display against Everton, where he made a total of six saves, was his highest rated of the month, and indeed the season so far.

Diogo Dalot (Manchester United) - 7.57

Diogo Dalot is the second of four Manchester United representatives in November’s best XI, and the Portugal international started each of his side’s three victories across the month. Like Onana, Dalot’s strongest performance came in the 3-0 win over Everton, where he provided the assist for Alejandro Garnacho’s breathtaking opener, while also making six tackles and interceptions combined, and three key passes, to register a WhoScored rating of 8.15.

Teden Mengi (Luton) - 7.20

November was a hugely positive month for Luton Town, as the Hatters moved up and out of the relegation zone with four points from their three matches, including an impressive draw at home to Liverpool. The standout performer for Rob Edwards’ side was Manchester United academy product Teden Mengi, who has now started five consecutive league matches. Since coming into favour, Mengi has looked assured at the back, and even chipped in with a vital goal in a 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace.

Harry Maguire (Manchester United) - 7.43

In the absence of Lisandro Martinez, and with Raphael Varane seemingly out of favour under Erik ten Hag, England international defender Harry Maguire has been restored to a starting spot at the back for Manchester United. Maguire has now started six consecutive Premier League matches, and helped his teammates to three clean sheets throughout November, with his standout performance coming in the narrow 1-0 victory over Fulham at the beginning of the month, where he made a total of nine clearances and two blocks to earn a WhoScored rating of 7.65.

Oleksandr Zinchenko (Arsenal) - 7.67

Arsenal’s Oleksandr Zinchenko completes the back four, with the Gunners winning both of the matches the Ukrainian started in November. Zinchenko also recorded his highest rated performance of the season so far, that coming in the 3-1 victory over Burnley that saw him seal all three points for Mikel Arteta’s side with a delightful volley.

John McGinn (Aston Villa) - 7.57

Unai Emery’s Aston Villa took six points from their three matches in November, and end the month in the Premier League’s top four, just two points off top spot. Key to Emery’s Villa side is Scotland international John McGinn, who posted his best performance of the season so far in the 3-1 victory over Nottingham Forest. McGinn scored, made one key pass and completed seven successful dribbles to land a WhoScored rating of 8.93.

Bruno Fernandes (Manchester United) - 7.61

Manchester United’s fourth and final representative in November’s best XI is captain Bruno Fernandes, who single-handedly won all three points against Fulham at the beginning of the month with a stoppage-time strike. Fernandes also provided the assist for Anthony Martial to make it 3-0 at Goodison Park last weekend, one of his six key passes across three matches.

Bernardo Silva (Manchester City) - 7.92

Manchester City’s Bernardo Silva continues to perform at a consistently high level and his two-goal display in a 6-1 win over Bournemouth at the beginning of November marked his highest rated performance so far this season (9.07). Silva then went on to provide the assist for Manuel Akanji’s equaliser at Stamford Bridge a week later, and put in an all-round solid display in a well-fought draw at home to Liverpool to round off the month.

Jeremy Doku (Manchester City) - 8.57

With a WhoScored rating of 8.57, Manchester City winger Jeremy Doku is our Premier League Player of the Month for November. Doku’s scintillating performance against Bournemouth at the beginning of the month, in which he registered a record-equalling four assists (and one goal), saw him earn a perfect 10.0 rating. The Belgian was kept quiet by Chelsea’s Reece James a week later, but tormented Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold last weekend, completing a total of 12 successful dribbles - at least five more than any other player has managed in a Premier League match this season.

Erling Haaland (Manchester City) - 7.80

Erling Haaland became the quickest player to reach 50 Premier League goals when he gave Manchester City the lead against Liverpool, and with a brace to his name against Chelsea two weeks prior, the Norwegian takes his spot in our best XI for November. Haaland ends the month four goals clear as the division’s top goalscorer, with 14 in 13 matches so far as he shows no signs of dropping off after his record-breaking debut season.

Nicolas Jackson (Chelsea) - 7.77

Joining Haaland in the front two is Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson, who netted his first Premier League hat-trick when the Blues ran out 4-1 winners over Tottenham in the first week of November. The 22-year-old followed up that goalscoring display with a second-half equaliser against Manchester City a week later to bring his tally for the season to six.
