Grealish leaps to top Premier League form rankings at De Bruyne's expense

There's a new runaway leader in the Premier League player form rankings, with Kevin De Bruyne relinquishing first place to another playmaker at the top of his game.

Having earned the highest WhoScored.com rating in gameweek nine in England's top-flight, Jack Grealish has leapt ten places to become the division's most in form player.

The England hopeful, who dazzled under the watchful eye of Gareth Southgate against Brighton, scored Aston Villa's equalising goal before assisting Matt Targett's last minute match-winner for a match rating of 9.29.

Grealish's subsequent form ranking rating - weighted by match relevance* over his last six appearances - is now 8.04 and second only to Cristiano Ronaldo in Europe's top five leagues.

The Villa captain created the most chances and was fouled the most times in the Premier League over the weekend (both six) and in five league appearances since the start of September he ranks second and first in said categories, with 17 and 25 respectively.

Elsewhere clubmate John McGinn is up to third in the rankings having led the way for dribbles in the league at the weekend, with six.

Manchester City's Sergio Aguero is sandwiched between the two and up one place despite starting the victory over Crystal Palace on the bench, with teammate De Bruyne having dropped four places to fifth and previous runner up Tammy Abraham falling five spots into seventh.

The highest climbers onto the leaderboard, meanwhile, are Raheem Sterling (up 11 places to ninth) and Leicester's Ricardo Pereira (up 12 places to fourth).

Jorginho is a newcomer to the table this season in tenth having seen his form improve under Frank Lampard of late, while Rodri climbs seven places into sixth having impressed as a makeshift centre-back at Palace.
