Previous Meetings

Manchester City and Chelsea have faced each other three times already this season. City won once, while Frank Lampard was in charge, and Chelsea have won the last two, both in the last six weeks. Thomas Tuchel is looking to become only the second manager, after Jurgen Klopp, to beat Pep Guardiola three games in a row. Overall, however, Guardiola has won four of the previous seven meetings between the two managers.

Route to the Final

Manchester City are unbeaten in the Champions League this season, remarkably winning 11 of 12 games in Europe. Pep Guardiola's side are currently on a seven-game winning streak in the competition, a record by any English side. In the knockout stage they have eliminated Gladbach, Borussia Dortmund and Paris Saint-Germain. Across the entire campaign, they have only conceded four goals across all of those matches.

Chelsea have only lost one of their 12 matches in the Champions League this season and, like City, have conceded only four times. They eliminted Atletico Madrid, Porto and Real Madrid en route to reaching their first Champions League final in nine years.

Team News

Manchester City have a clean bill of health for the final. Riyad Mahrez and Phil Foden are really untouchable on the wings so it really just leaves the centre-forward position up for grabs. Kevin De Bruyne is expected to take it, allowing Pep Guardiola to also get Bernardo Silva into the side. It means Raheem Sterling, Sergio Aguero and Gabriel Jesus will have to settle for a place on the bench. Fernandinho has played very well of late and it wouldn't be a surprise if he started over Rodri, while Joao Cancelo and Olesandr Zinchenko are in competition to start at left-back in Portugal.

Edouard Mendy and N'Golo Kante are injury doubts heading into the final but both have made the trip and are expected to start in a big boost for Thomas Tuchel's side. Andreas Christensen and Reece James are in competition to start at the back for Chelsea, while Kai Havertz, Hakim Ziyech and Christian Pulisic battle for one spot in attack.
