Bayern hitman Lewandowski the Bundesliga's star man so far this gameweek

Another six exciting Bundesliga games have been played out across Friday and Saturday. Bayer Leverkusen moved on from their surprise home 4-1 loss at the hands of Wolfsburg with another Kai Havertz inspired win at Freiburg, while Werder Bremen earned a confidence boosting 1-0 win at Schalke. At the top, Bayern Munich moved 10 points clear of second-placed Borussia Dortmund, who take on Paderborn today, as they trounced Fortuna Duesseldorf 5-0 at the Allianz Arena.

Here, we take a look at the star performers from the gameweek so far, starting with Bayer Leverkusen's 1-0 win at Freiburg on Friday night...

Freiburg 0-1 Bayer Leverkusen: Kai Havertz

Kai Havertz was at it again as his second half strike proved decisive at Freiburg. The in-demand German has now scored five Bayer Leverkusen goals in four league outings since the Bundesliga resumed, hitting the back of the net with his only shot on goal to help his side move back into third. Havertz chipped in with additional returns of two tackles and one key pass before he was forced off midway through the second half. That said, the 20-year-old did enough prior to his withdrawal to land the man of the match award with a WhoScored rating of 7.40.

Schalke 0-1 Werder Bremen: Kevin Vogt

Leonardo Bittencourt's stunning strike on the half hour mark saw Werder Bremen earn a vital three points in their battle to beat the drop and pile the pressure on Schalke boss David Wagner. However, Bittencourt was pipped to the star man gong by midfield shield Kevin Vogt, who landed a WhoScored rating of 7.74. The 28-year-old protected the backline with aplomb as he made three tackles and three interceptions to help his side to a narrow victory.

Wolfsburg 1-2 Eintracht Frankfurt: Kevin Mbabu

Wolfsburg were unable to follow up their stunning 4-1 win at Bayer Leverkusen with another victory as they were overcome by Eintracht Frankfurt on home turf. Despite a 2-1 loss, though, Kevin Mbabu put in another solid showing from right-back, as his WhoScored rating (8.56) suggests. The right-back drew Wolfsburg level on the hour mark, scoring with his only shot on goal, and made a whopping eight tackles and in another notable performance from the Swiss defender.

Hertha Berlin 2-0 Augsburg: Peter Pekarik

Hertha Berlin have been one of the form sides since the Bundesliga returned and they made it 10 points from a possible 12 with a 2-0 win over Augsburg. Experienced right-back Peter Pekarik came away with the man of the match award in a clean-sheet attaining performance that saw him garner a WhoScored rating of 8.06. Augsburg had little joy attaking down the left flank as Pekarik made two tackles and one interception and he was unfortunate to not register an assist as he made four key passes across the 90 minutes; not bad for a defender who had only created two goalscoring chances in the previous four league outings before Saturday's victory.

Mainz 0-1 Hoffenheim: Florian Muller

Mainz sit just three points above the relegation zone after Saturday's 1-0 home defeat to Hoffenheim, but it could have been worse without young Florian Muller between the sticks. Making just his seventh league start of the season, the 22-year-old pulled out five saves in the narrow loss, including one penalty stop to deny Steven Zuber from the spot, to help Muller to a WhoScored rating of 8.24.

Bayern Munich 5-0 Fortuna Duesseldorf: Robert Lewandowski

By netting on the stroke of half time, Robert Lewandowski has now scored against every active Bundesliga side. The Pole bagged a brace in Bayern Munich's 5-0 win over Fortuna Duesseldorf as he hit the back of the net with two of his four shots. Bayern's prolific striker has now scored more goals (29) than any other player in Europe's top five leagues this season and he could have had an assist, too, as he made two key passes, while an additional two successful dribbles saw Lewandowski earn the WhoScored man of the match gong with a rating of 9.29.
