Fantasy Football Tips for Gameweek 25 in the Premier League
The January transfer signings have had time to make their mark in the Premier League and now could be the time to make some adjustments to your fantasy football teams with some of those players in mind. It’s hard to look beyond the exploits of Gabriel Jesus, but M’Baye Niang has also made a real impression in a short space of time for Watford.
As always, the WhoScored tipster has examined the fixtures and come up with some players that should come into the reckoning for Gameweek 25 in the Premier League.
ROSS BARKLEY (EVERTON)
While the New Year has been cruel to Bournemouth, Everton have used the fresh start to kick their season back into gear. Pressure had been mounting on Ronald Koeman after a period of one win in 11 matches but only Tottenham (13) have won more points in England’s top-tier in 2017 than Everton (12).
Ross Barkley emerged as the scapegoat for Everton’s failings during their rough three-month period but the 23-year-old has enjoyed a real renaissance in Everton’s return to form. In fact, of players that have featured in more than two league games this calendar year only Everton teammate Romelu Lukaku (8.16) has garnered a higher WhoScored rating in the Premier League than Barkley (8.03).
The England international has scored or assisted four goals in five league matches in 2017 when he only managed to play a direct hand in five goals in his first 17 games this season.

The Toffees travel to strugglers Middlesbrough on Saturday with a view to going eight league games unbeaten – a feat only Manchester United (15) and Tottenham (9) can currently better. Boro, on the other hand, are currently on the longest winless run in the division (7). Aitor Karanka’s side haven’t even scored in four of their last five home matches against Everton, which only strengthens the case for an away win this weekend.
LUCIANO NARSINGH (SWANSEA)
Claudio Ranieri has been given the dreaded vote of confidence and that usually only means one thing for under pressure managers. It would be a shame if the Italian wasn’t able to end his time at Leicester on his own terms after leading them to a miraculous Premier League triumph last season but his future at the King Power Stadium only looks to be heading in one direction. This weekend will see two teams moving in opposite directions face off, as Swansea look to continue their resurgence under new manager Paul Clement.
Two wins in their last three league games has lifted Swansea out of the bottom three and now they will be looking to leapfrog Leicester in the table when they host the Foxes on Sunday. Clement’s side were unfortunate not to get a point from their clash with Manchester City last time out and the Swansea manager should now be looking to give January arrival Luciano Narsingh his full debut for the Welsh outfit.

Narsingh, a permanent arrival from PSV Eindhoven, has been eased into first-team action in the Premier League since his arrival but he has still managed to register two assists in just 55 minutes of action for his new side. The 26-year-old could get his full debut against a sinking Leicester side this weekend and is primed to add to what has already been an impressive introduction.
LAMINE KONE (SUNDERLAND)
David Moyes was prepared to gamble Sunderland’s Premier League status when they sold Patrick van Aanholt to relegation rivals Crystal Palace last month but the Sunderland manager was not interested in losing Lamine Kone at the start of the season, even when it looked like the Ivory Coast international would hand in a transfer request to force through a move to Everton.
Sunderland have often looked hapless at the back this season but it’s not a surprise that when Kone has performed well so have the team. In fact, the Black Cats have not won a Premier League game this season when Kone has not started, while they have only managed a single point from those five matches.
His return from the Africa Cup of Nations has been a huge boost for Moyes’ side and that has particularly showed in each of his two appearances in 2017 where Sunderland took a point against Tottenham before thrashing Palace 4-0. In both matches Kone finished as the WhoScored Man of the Match and he will be looking to complete the hat-trick at home to Southampton this weekend.

Claude Puel’s side have lost each of their last three since progressing through to the EFL Cup final at the end of last month and have generally struggled on the road throughout the season. Indeed, no team has failed to score in more away matches in the Premier League this season than Southampton (7 matches).
YAYA TOURE (MANCHESTER CITY)
The 33-year-old may not have a future at Manchester City beyond the end of the season when his contract expires but Yaya Toure has developed into an important player for Pep Guardiola after initially casting him aside for the first four months of the season.
With central midfield options limited, Toure has remarkably developed into one of the first names in the teamsheet and Guardiola went out of his way to call the Ivorian midfielder “exceptional” after City’s 4-0 win away to West Ham at the start of the month.
He is set to play another key role for City in Monday’s trip to Bournemouth. In fact, all of Toure’s four league goals have come away from home this season, while he has netted in three of his last four matches for City away from home.

Given City have scored at least four goals in each of their last three meetings with the Cherries, coupled with the fact only Leicester (1) have recorded fewer points in the Premier League in 2017 than Eddie Howe’s side (2), City should have a real opportunity to continue their assault on the top four here.
