Still undecided what footballers to invest your money in? Football INDEX even provides users with a handy tool to help you make informed decisions, located on the top right hand sit of the home page. Share prices tend to fluctuate, but they aren’t just determined by player performance. Share prices can also increase based on the media attention a player receives on any given day of trading.

Everyday, Football INDEX highlights the five biggest market moves over a 24-hour period. Here are the current five:

1. MATIJA NASTASIC (SCHALKE)

Former Manchester City defender Matija Nastasic has received the most attention on Football INDEX in the last 24 hours. The 24-year-old’s share price has increased 30.1% as Schalke eye second place in the Bundesliga.

Domenico Tedesco’s side are now only one point behind Borussia Dortmund in the race to finish behind runaway leaders Bayern Munich, but there might be more to Nastasic’s sudden spike than simply Schalke’s league progress.

The 24-year-old could be hot property in the summer when he will only have 12 months left to run on his existing Schalke deal. A solid showing at the 2018 World Cup will only enhance his chances of a high profile move and he could prove a very wise investment at just £0.53 price per share.

2. ANGEL DI MARIA (PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN)

The big news in football at the moment is that Neymar will miss the next two months after opting to undergo surgery on an ankle injury suffered in Paris Saint-Germain’s 3-0 win over Marseille on Sunday.

It’s a hammer blow for PSG’s chances of overcoming Real Madrid in the Champions League next week, but it has also presented opportunities to others. Angel Di Maria is expected to deputise for Neymar over the coming months and that has been recognised on Football INDEX.

The Argentina international’s share price has increased 19.91% in the last 24 hours and he has the added incentive of filling the shoes of Neymar when he lines up against former club Madrid next week.

The 30-year-old has seven goals and five assists in 21 league appearances so far this season and he will only improve on that with regular playing time. He is definitely someone you should be looking to add to your Football INDEX portfolios.

3. ALLAN (NAPOLI)

Allan is more commonly known for his defensive work in Napoli’s midfield but the 27-year-old has also shown some creativity and an eye for goal in recent weeks. The Brazilian has played a direct hand in eight league goals this season and three of those have come in his last four outings in Serie A.

Napoli set a club-record of 10 consecutive Serie A wins on Monday night and now Maurizio Sarri’s side are four points clear of Juventus, albeit the Old Lady have a game in hand over their rivals.

A noticeable upturn in form has resulted in a 15.07% share price increase on Football INDEX for Allan, but there might be better options out there if you are looking to add to your portfolios. His recent form has been impressive, but don’t expect goals and assists to continue from the Brazilian going forward.

4. THOMAS DELANEY (WERDER BREMEN)

Like Matija Nastasic, Thomas Delaney could earn a big summer move with a good showing at the 2018 World Cup. The Denmark international only joined Werder Bremen in January 2017 but the 26-year-old has impressed in his first full campaign for the club despite the fact they are battling relegation.

Denmark have a real chance of progressing from their World Cup group, which contains Peru, Australia and France, and Delaney’s performances in central midfield will be key to that. His share price has increased 14.16% in the last 24 hours and he could prove an astute investment if you are prepared to wait until the summer for the full benefits.

As an added bonus, Delaney has been named the WhoScored Man of the Match more times than any Bremen player in the Bundesliga this season (3).

5. EDINSON CAVANI (PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN)

Neymar’s injury hasn’t just benefited Di Maria, but also Edinson Cavani. The Uruguay international has been forced to accept playing second fiddle to Neymar this season despite the fact he is now the club’s all-time record goalscorer.

However, Cavani will now be allowed to step out of Neymar’s shadow for the rest of the season and make a case for himself as one of the best players in Europe. He is already scoring at a formidable rate (24 goals in 25 league games) but a top showing against Real Madrid next week would go a long way to stamping his mark on this current PSG side.

PSG trail 3-1 to Madrid from the first leg and losing Neymar is obviously a huge blow, but if Cavani can inspire them to a stunning win then his status at the club will only enhance. That has been noticed by the Football INDEX community, resulting in a 12.39% increase in share price over the last 24 hours. At £1.93, he is still a bargain.
