The Belgian wing-wizard was exceptional in Chelsea’s 4-1 win over Cardiff City on Saturday, with Hazard the star of the show, bagging a hat-trick to help return a WhoScored rating of 10. Despite only starting three games this season, the 27-year-old has scored five goals this season, the joint-most in Europe’s top five leagues this season, and also means he has had a direct hand in more goals (7) than any other Premier League player this term.

His man of the match award on Saturday was his third of the campaign and understandably means he is the Premier League player of the week following another stand out display, with four successful dribbles, the joint-most in gameweek five, contributing to his outstanding rating. Shane Duffy takes second spot in the top three best rated players of the week. 

 

Brighton fought back from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 with Southampton on Monday night, with Duffy kickstarting the comeback at St. Mary’s midway through the second half. The centre-back won seven aerial duels, made six clearances, three interceptions and two tackles to go with his goal to help return a WhoScored rating of 9.18, the second best this week. 

 

Rounding off the the top three top rated players from the week is Bournemouth star Ryan Fraser, who excelled in the Cherries’ 4-2 win over Leicester. The Scot has been in fine form for the south coast side this term as he scored two and assisted one in the entertaining victory over the Foxes. His two goals came from two shots and one assist from two key passes as he gained a WhoScored rating of 8.63.

Meanwhile, England number one Jordan Pickford earned the worst WhoScored rating of the week with a lowly 4.76 in Everton’s 3-1 loss to West Ham on Sunday. Pickford committed an error leading to Andriy Yarmolenko’s second goal on the half hour mark, while one save from just four shots on target faced compunded a miserable afternoon for the Toffees shotstopper.
