Spain vs France Team News

Pedri was forced off in the eighth minute of the quarter-final win over Germany following a nasty challenge from Toni Kroos, with Dani Olmo expected to deputise in the middle of the park. Robin Le Normand and Dani Carvajal are suspended, with Nacho and Jesus Navas tipped to start at centre-back and right-back, respectively.

Despite suggestions he'd been booked against Germany, Alvaro Morata didn't receive a yellow card in Friday's showdown in Stuttgart and should lead the charge against France.

Didier Deschamps has the luxury of a fully fit squad to select from with Adrien Rabiot available having missed the quarter-final penalty shootout meeting with Portugal as he was suspended. Rabiot may replace Eduardo Camavinga in midfield, while Marcus Thuram could replace Randal Kolo Muani on the frontline.

Spain vs France Key Battle

With Pedri absent for Spain this week, Dani Olmo is set to deputise in midfield. On the four occasions the former has been subbed off at Euro 2024, he's been replaced by the latter three times. Olmo has shone when called upon at the tournament and the 26-year-old is likely to be presented with the chance to nail down that third midfield spot when they take on France in Munich this week.

Set to start on the left of the midfield trio, Olmo will have his work cut out to help breach this resolute France backline. While a fine ball-carrier, he'll be up against N'Golo Kante as he attempts to force his way through the France midfield. Kante has been superb for Didier Deschamps' side in Germany, stepping back onto the international stage with ease, returning a 91.7% tackle success rate for Les Bleus.
