Swansea re-sign Andre Ayew in club-record deal

Swansea have confirmed they have re-signed Andre Ayew 18 months after they sold him to West Ham in a club-record deal

Ayew, who will link up with brother Jordan at the Liberty Stadium, has put pen to paper on a three-and-a-half-year deal running until June 2021.

The Hammers made Ayew their record signing at the time after shelling out £20.5m to sign the Ghana international from Swansea in August 2016.

Ayew never managed to hit the heights expected upon his arrival, although reoccurring injuries did not help his cause, and has now secured a return to Wales.

West Ham have managed to nearly recoup the full money invested in the versatile forward, with Swansea reportedly agreeing to pay between £18-20m for his services.

Ayew scored 12 goals during his solitary Premier League campaign at Swansea in 2015/16 but only managed nine goals in 43 league appearances spread across one-and-a-half seasons with the Hammers.
