United are waiting for INEOS chairman Sir Jim Ratcliffe's 25% stake in the club to be ratified by the Premier League and are already looking at how to reshape the squad this summer.

Benfica's Joao Neves is among those linked with a move to Old Trafford, with the teenager shining for the Portuguese side.

And defence is going to be another priority port of call for United, with the club prepared to lose four of their five senior centre-backs in the off-season.

Raphael Varane and Jonny Evans are out of contract in the summer, with the club opting against triggering an automatic one-year renewal for the former.

United will also listen to suitable offers for Victor Linderlof and Harry Maguire, which leaves Lisandro Martinez as the only centre-back safe from a potential departure.

The Premier League side will seek to bolster at the back at the end of the season, with Jean-Clair Todibo and Jarrad Branthwaite of Nice and Everton, respectively, rumoured targets.

United currently sit eight points off the top four following their 2-2 draw with Tottenham last weekend.
