Wolves exercise option to buy Hwang

Wolves have exercised their option to sign Hwang Hee-Chan permanently upon the conclusion of his loan deal at the end of the season.

The South Korean forward joined from RB Leipzig last summer on a season-long loan, with Wolves inserting an option to buy.

And on Wednesday, Wolves confirmed they will be making his move permanent on July 1st 2022.

"Wolves have exercised the option to sign Hee Chan Hwang on a permanent deal on 1st July 2022 following the conclusion of his loan," a statement read on the club's official website.

"The winger is currently five months into a season-long loan at Molineux, but having agreed personal terms before his arrival last summer, Wolves have now activated a clause to make his move from RB Leipzig permanent later this year, on a deal until 2026.

"Although he is currently recovering from an injury which has put him out of action for the past month, the South Korean international has made a big impact on the club, scoring four times in his opening six appearances in the Premier League.

"The 26-year-old, who is also celebrating his birthday today, got off the mark quickly in his new surroundings, scoring just minutes after coming off the bench in his first appearance to guide Wolves to their first Premier League win of the season."

Hwang has scored four league goals following his arrival from RB Leipzig; no Wolves has netted more.
