The following are our Expert's tips - remaining within the £100m budget - that we feel could give you a competitive edge this time around.

Kasper Schmeichel - £6.2m (home vs Southampton)

Leicester may not have the easiest of games this weekend but face a Saints side that have struggled of late, particularly away from home. Koeman's side have picked up just one point from a possible 15 on the road while the Foxes have won 5 from 6 in total, with Schmeichel playing a key role in helping Pearson's side keep a clean sheet in each of their last 3 victories.

Michael Dawson - £6.7m (home vs Burnley)

If Hull do beat the drop they will owe much to an improved defensive resolve of late, led by captain Michael Dawson from the back. The Tigers host a Burnley side that must win if they are to stay up this season, with just one goal scored in each of the last 4 meetings between the sides. The Clarets, however, haven't found the back of the net in 6 attempts.

Paddy McNair - £6.6m (away vs Palace)

The United youngster has got the nod at the back in recent weeks in the absence of a number of more senior teammates and remains a cheap option while that continues. Louis van Gaal's side are looking to arrest a run of 3 successive defeats against a Palace side with an identical record in that respect, with neither side able to find the net over the same period and the Eagles having very little to play for.

Craig Dawson - £6.8m (away vs Newcastle)

It's no surprise that West Brom's upturn in results of late has been based on a solid defensive record, keeping 3 consecutive clean sheets under the watchful eye of Tony Pulis. They face a Newcastle side in turmoil this weekend, with the Magpies on an 8-game losing streak and looking short of quality at both ends, so Dawson, who has become a regular fixture, will be confident of a fourth clean sheet.

John Stones - £7.9m (home vs Sunderland)

Everton's impressive form came to a halt at Villa last time out but they'll be looking to put that right back at Goodison this weekend, hosting a Sunderland side that have struggled for goals all season. The Black Cats haven't scored more than once against the Toffees in the last 10 meetings between the sides, while no team have scored fewer goals on the road thus far (12), so Stones and co. will be confident of a return to form.

Nemanja Matic - £7.7m (home vs Liverpool)

Chelsea play their first match since being officially crowned as champions against a familiar foe this weekend, with the Blues and indeed Mourinho's rivalry with Liverpool meaning they are unlikely to take their foot off the gas just yet. The champions always ensure that they are defensively resolute first and foremost in such games so Nemanja Matic will, as ever, be key, with the midfielder having won more tackles than any other player this season (118).

Christian Eriksen - £9.5m (away vs Stoke)

He may not be in his finest form of the campaign but this weekend's match between Spurs and Stoke may well play into Christian Eriksen's hands. WhoScored.com's statistical match forecast suggests that the Londoners will score from a direct free-kick, with the Dane notching with 3 said efforts this season having scored 6 of his 10 league goals from outside the box.

Santi Cazorla - £12.7m (home vs Swansea)

As Arsenal gave Hull the runaround at times last week it was Alexis Sanchez who again stole the headlines, but Santi Cazorla was the man pulling the strings from deep. You can expect more of the same against Swansea on Monday night, with the Spaniard hoping to add to his 9 assists in a game in which Arsenal are tipped to create many scoring chances in WhoScored's match forecast.

Chrisitan Benteke - £13.6m (home vs West Ham)

There's little doubt as to the form player in the Premier League right now, with Christian Benteke named April player of the month having struck 8 times in his last 6 matches. He will be part of a Villa side that host West Ham this weekend, with the visitors having very little to play for and forced to field a makeshift backline including youth graduate Reece Burke against the league's form striker, who boasts a WhoScored.com rating of 8.01 over his last 3 appearances.

Sergio Agüero - £14.3m (home vs QPR)

There may be no 'Agüeroooo' moment as City host QPR this weekend but the Argentine still has an individual prize in his sights, sitting top of the scoring charts with 22 goals. He's hit form of late, with 5 goals in 4 matches, and as well as that memorable last gasp title-winner back in 2012, the striker struck both goals for City in a 2-2 draw in the reverse fixture between the sides.

Leonardo Ulloa - £7.9m (home vs Southampton)

Another Argentine who has found himself back among the goals after a barren run is Leonardo Ulloa, who certainly looks back to his early season best at a crucial time for Leicester. The striker has 3 goals and an assist in his last 5 appearances and faces and Saints side whose impressive defensive record has suffered of late, conceding twice in each of their last 3 matches.
