Still undecided which footballers to invest your money in? Football INDEX even provides users with a handy tool to help you make informed decisions. Share prices tend to fluctuate, but they aren’t just determined by player performance. Share prices can also increase based on the media attention a player receives on any given day of trading.

Every day, Football INDEX highlight the five biggest market movers over a 24-hour period, which can be located on the website’s home page.

1. JONJOE KENNY (EVERTON)

The 20-year-old has benefitted from Seamus Coleman’s spell on the sidelines to consolidate his spot as a first-team regular for Everton this season.

Jonjoe Kenny has now started 13 Premier League matches for Everton this season and has finally been released on Football INDEX. His share price was just 50p upon release and has already increased 34.16% in the last 24 hours.

While Kenny’s share price is expected to rise further, he is certainly not a player you should keep hold of in your portfolio for long. A short-term investment may bring a small profit margin, but don’t lose sleep over it if you haven’t invested now.

2. LUCAS MOURA (PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN)

When we tipped Lucas Moura as a player to invest in last week, his share price was only £1.31. In the last 24 hours of trading alone, the Brazilian is now trading at £1.75 a share.

The Paris Saint-Germain winger is expected to leave the Parc des Princes this month with Manchester United heavily linked with a move for the 25-year-old. Jose Mourinho is desperate to add sign another attacker this month and Lucas is arguably the most accessible option.

However, PSG are reportedly looking to fetch £35m for his signature and that could prove a sticking point for United given Lucas has only started 12 Ligue 1 games since the start of 2017.

At this point, it’s worth monitoring his share price carefully as a move away looks very far from certain. It’s still early days in the transfer window and there’s still a chance his share price will increase further, but tread carefully.

3. FRANCIS COQUELIN (ARSENAL)

Francis Coquelin is free to leave Arsenal this month and looks set to follow former teammate Gabriel to Valencia. Los Che signed the Brazilian defender in the summer and are closing in on their second Arsenal raid in the space of six months with Coquelin.

Arsene Wenger ruled out Coquelin’s departure to West Ham and that has put Valencia in the driving seat for the £12m-rated midfielder. Coquelin has already given the greenlight to Valencia and now all that remains is an agreement between the two clubs.

As a result of this transfer talk, Coquelin’s share price has increased 23.90% on Football INDEX in the last 24 hours, but like Kenny, is not an investment you want to hold on for too long. Once the destination of his next club becomes clear, look to sell.

4. LORENZO PELLEGRINI (ROMA)

Roma only re-signed Lorenzo Pellegrini in the summer and now there is talk he could be off again with the likes of Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United reportedly circling for his signature.

The 21-year-old has started 10 league matches for Roma this season, but a January move appears unlikely, even if he is well thought of.

Traders have responded to speculation of a high profile transfer and that has translated into an 11% increase in share price in the last day of trading. He is currently floating on the market at £0.87p a share, but his price is now expected to settle, if not decrease.

5. DOUGLAS LUIZ (GIRONA)

19-year-old Girona midfielder Douglas Luiz completes the five biggest market movers on Football INDEX in the last 24 hours of trading. On loan from Manchester City, the Brazilian midfielder has been slowly eased into Spanish football, but will be disappointed only to have started one La Liga match thus far.

With talk of Pep Guardiola on the market to identify Fernandinho’s long-term replacement, Luiz will hope to stake a claim once he returns to the Etihad at the end of the season.

A contingent of City supporters will hope Luiz is the one to rotate with Fernandinho next season, but if rumours are to be believed, Guardiola has other ideas. Luiz’s Football INDEX share price has increased 9.98% in the last 24 hours, but he is one to swerve if you haven’t already invested.
